About SKEM NORTH JFC
SKEM NORTH JFC are a Football Club in Skelmersdale, Lancashire and currently run a "KICKSTART" session for U5/U6 and 8 teams from U8 to U14, which are all playing in the Skelmersdale Junior Football League and the Springfield League in Liverpool.
SKEM NORTH JFC were founded in the Summer of 2011 by the original managers of Skelmersdale United, when discussions over lack of support from the parent club led to seperation. Even though SKEM NORTH JFC are still relatively new, its history goes back to 1989 when Aabacus JFC was founded and in 2003 joined up with Chapel House JFC to become Skelmersdale United Academy.
Since its foundation in 2011 SKEM NORTH have come a long way. They are run by a Committee, have got a constitution, the necessary policies, as well as an accountant providing sound accounts, which led to the Football Association granting us a "Grow the game" grant for the 2012/13 season.
Currently we have 8 teams in different age groups, of which all but one, who is working towards it, are managed by managers who hold at least Level 1 coaching batches. We are working strongly towards recognition as a Charter Standard Club, which we are hoping to achieve by the end of the season.
